This knife was similar to the Surveyor knife but were contract knives made for Lyman Bradford Co. From Kingston, Mass. My understanding is they were a tool company. Sold though magazine advertising.

That surveyor knife is one of the finest examples of a Remington I have seen. Saw one in person a couple years ago just like yours.
