Your stamp is correct John. I've not seen it in any reference material but I have 2 knives with the same stamp. My guess is mid to late 30'3.

John, hope you don't mind that I tried to make the stamp clearer and easier to evaluate. I am not knowledgeable enough with Remington marks to know what the official name for this mark is, however it does look good to me. Others will come along soon to provide a better answer.

Have had it in my picture files forever. I can find no reference as to where I downloaded it from.

The reason I ask is I haven't seen the OP stamp in a chart before but I see it's in your reference. Just curious who put it out.

One thing about the Remington deal. Info is king, records are hard to come by. I appreciate you posting that. I saved it also.

It looks like a big knife. What pattern is it?

That is the other mystery, coke bottle pattern. Not example to be found in pictures. The knife had been owned by two of the top knife experts. The fit and finish is spot on, the handle material is the exact slick black Remington used. Just an odd pattern.......,

Keith, the other concern is that there is no pattern number. If it was made in mid 30s I guess it could have been a proto , lunch box without a stamped number or the biggest concern, made up..........

Also appears to have a full blade etch. I would proceed with caution on that one.

Lunch box - had to use are frame on the shelf, and a blade on shelf. The nail Nick looks in a wrong location for a Remington. The frame isn't one off the shelf as they never made one that was in production. The stamp is moving into an erra where ink was being introduced. As strong as the etch appears to be I'd be nervous to pay big money. Not physical looking at it definately puts my opinion at a disadvantage. Jmo which isn't much. Good luck.

The frame gives me some heartburn too, but it is more intuition than anything I could back up with facts or observations.

I did try to highlight the etch on the blade in a photo below. An observation, which may be wrong due to looking at photos vs. the actual knife, is that the blade has been cleaned in a peculiar way. In my experience when an etched blade is cleaned they clean "around" the etch. This blade looks like the etch itself was polished while a part of the blade above the etch was not polished. See picture below.

Not trying to provide advice just trying to highlight some things I would investigate if I were a potential buyer for the knife.

The stamp may be legitimately used by Remington but from the pictures of the op knife I am quite sure the knife is not a real Remington product.
