Four Remington's Kept From my Fathers Collection

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Four Remington's Kept From my Fathers Collection

Post by tnorton »

These are the Four knives I decided to display from my Late Fathers collection. The top 2 started him collecting Remington's - In the Mid 70's he had collected a few old guns -- I remember him trading a couple of Guns (don't remember makes or models, I was 15 or 16 YO) for the top two knives. After that he moved to collecting Remington pocket knives (and a few collections of Case Knives he later sold). He collected for 25 - 30 years -- He died at age 90 just recently -- I do not collect knives ( all though I have a several) - Just thought I would display them on the AAPK site as well---Thanks
