Remington/UMC kleanblade kitchen set Ka-8431

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington/UMC kleanblade kitchen set Ka-8431

Post by onehikes »

I recently ran across this NOS of Remington kitchen knives that caught my attention. Do any of you Remington knife collectors have any information when these were produced. Are they sought after by collectors. I just found them to uniques to walk away from and could make the ultimate man bbq set.

Very nice. Although the kitchen knives were produced in far less quantities than pocket or hunting knives, there just isn't as much interest or values compared to the other Remington knives. Even so, a full mint condition set like yours would still be a desirable find. Over the years I have bought a few pieces of kitchen cutlery and even a few empty boxes .

Cool set you have. Here is a picture of your set in the C30 catalog.

THANK YOU, THAT IS SO COOL. Does C-30 mean it is dated in the 30's. Still trying to age this set.
