Remington knives with an etch

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

R363 Master Knife. I see that this is probably a 363 instead of a 383, tang stamp was a little blurry.

Thanx, ESPN...

They're the only Remington's I have, so thought I'd throw em on the pile. Picked them up at an estate sale in the original sealed box...just as you see em. I know they're not a 'big' collector's set, but I thought they were unique and in mint condition, so I brought em home for a good price.

Interesting knife to me that the etch is so far down at the end of the blade. Normally they are directly under the nail nick but I've not seen that before.

Keith, it appears your knife blade was just etched a little further to the point. The differences that we find and share are very interesting. John

Thanks for showing yous John. I believe my etch is a good etch, just interesting. Your knife matches the book, as far as location. But like you said, there are many variations.
