Remington knives with an etch

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Real nice 1306 that got too close to some newer Case celluloid. Still has the etch under the fog, think it would clean up but don,t want to lose the etch. Never sharpened.

Man, sorry for your loss. Beautiful mint bullets are hard to come by. I know how much the etch means to the knife but you may have to clean it just to make sure it does not continue to deteriorate. Celluloid has ruined many good knives.

Using semi chrome or some similar paste shouldn't hurt the acid etch.If it was ink, that's not an option.

Beautiful 1273. Have not seen one that nice in along time. For sure one to hang on to and difficult to upgrade without breaking the bank.

Hey Kieth that R3445 appears to be sheephorn? I have seen another Remington like that with the 5 instead of the 0 for the handle code and it was minty with beautiful etch.

old knife I have had for years. Decent old knife was thinking about light cleaning, don't want to lose any of the etch. What do you think.

I can still to this day remember the first R4243 I held. They are so much more of a knife than a person thinks. Great knives guys. ::tu::
