Remington knives with an etch

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

I do not think I have posted this three blade Remington scout with the bail at the master blade end. Just traded for this variation to add to my Remington Boy Scout knife display which you can view at the April Oregon Knife Collector Association Show in Eugene Oregon.

That Remington knife mechanic must not have been paying attention that day when he drilled the bail holes .

The poor Remington forum, not much love as of late. Here is a pyremite? R555, Christmas tree knife. Remington Christmas tree knives are a little different than other companies as they have gun power in the mix. I don't have proof this is true but it's what collectors I respect have told me. I was told that the reason you see very few Christmas tree Remingtons is because they are super flammable and few were made. Like I said, no proof of this and I don't want to put the couple I have in the fire to see if it's true.

I've seen plenty of R6514 but this is the first R6513 I've seen. Has a faint Remington master knife etch.
After further inspection it appears the pen blade broke off and they turned it into a single blade. That's disappointing. ::td::

Amazing those knives survived in such good condition. You guys are dedicated. I guess Remington made a lot of knives and they have been valued by collectors.

I’m really new here, so I hope I’m putting this in the right place! Here is an RH51 Boy Scout knife from my grandfathers collection. I’m interested in more info on it! I am very interested in the history behind these knives!
