Remington R3353

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington R3353

Post by ScoutKnives »

Not a pattern I normally collect but thought it to be interesting . Very hefty knife 3 3/4” long .
Pattern # R3353 , early first Remington tang stamp , Remington UMC in a circle .
Found a R3363 in the c30 catalogue, seems to be the same knife but shield location is different .

Thanks for looking
Mike

NIce knife and pattern.I am envious. R3353 is in Stewart and Ritchies book. Everything same as R3363 except R3363 as flat bolsters and handles.

That is a fine old Remington, I could see using one like that as an EDC if they weren't probably so valuable. ::hmm::

Great looking pattern, interesting how one blade was Crocus polished & etched while the other was blue glazed. Reminds me of the Case -046J Moose pattern, minus the swell center. ::tu::
