R1253

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Nice find! I think that one might clean up pretty nice. ::tu:: ::tu::

I agree. Great find. That could be cleaned to a bullet anyone would be proud to own. John

I found this Saturday September 12. It was worse than the pictures show. Blade pivot pin had been broken, liner bent, bolster loose and shield missing. Someone had used it for spry bar. I took to a friend to let him do what he could. Nothing is new but the pin material. Shield is old bullet shield, it was worn smooth. Friend put the lines on it. It is a old surviver.

Happy I found this old knife. I've been inactive for a while. Probably would clean up alittle more, but is good for now.
