Original As Found

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Original As Found

Anyone else think this one might have been rehandled?

Not my knife, not bidding, just an observation. Your comments are appreciated. ::tu::

It looks like a rehandle job to me. (Not bad, but I don't like the way the rocker pin heads haven't been peened.) The blades are quite worn and have been obviously victimized by a grinder (ugh!) and the scales look unused. If find it ironic that the seller states: "The Remington Pocket Knife has been carried and used over the Years and has a nice pocket worn feel to it." Maybe it's me, but I don't see any "pocket wear" at all on those scales. ::td::

I don't know Remingtons, either...but agree...that the wear on the right two blades doesn't appear consistent with the bone wear. I'm not sure they appear consistent with the two left blades, either.

Probably the funniest thing is they took it apart and forgot where the blades were supposed to go.
