The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Did someone cut a bail off of that knife? ::facepalm::

It looks like whoever worked on it used brass, or at least something other than NS to replace the pivot pins and at least one of the bolsters, that I can see, got mangled up in the process. ::facepalm::

Post it and your question over in the repair and restoration forum viewforum.php?f=37. Some folks who are good at it might see it there, who might not see your post in the Remington forum.

Good luck with it. It’s a shame it’s been buggered up.

Yea, definitely another issue. Hard to tell how much is missing. Ninety years of use have left scars. I moved my pics to the other site hoping for more advice, not much so far. I still want to revive the old knife as much as I can without harming it.
