Yellow handled RY-series knives

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Yellow handled RY-series knives

Post by CampbellAr2 »

Howdy,
I’ve seen several knives withe the RY model number that were made during the Camillus production time frame. The references I see mention these as made for the European market with yellow Delrin handles …but these are dang hard to find (also trying to understand why European customer would want yellow handles?)

I’ve snagged a couple of these ( RY4 and RY5 Lockbacks), with RY4 pic included

Are these knives (and the others) particularly collectible vs others of the Camillus run

Trying to figure out if the set is worth completing ref the others knives RY1 - RY3?

I never knew these existed.

Very nice...and definitely the type of thing I tend to accumulate.

These were made in the 90’s by Camillus, so eBay and our AAPK Stores are probably best sources

The RY4 comes up on eBay every couple of months…,the other models are hard to find though

I have the RY4 and RY5…Still need the RY1 , RY2, and RY3
