Job Interview on the 24th

Post by TPK » Sun Mar 19, 2023 6:41 am

Hello Friends,

I have a job interview next friday morning. ::tu::
I'll have to drive a little bit farther to get to this company than I do now if I get the job (like 55 min. instead of 45 min.) but I wouldn't have to work on the weekends anymore so if anyone wishes to pray about better pay a positive outcome for me I'd appreciate it. ::nod::

Thanks! ::handshake:: :)

Add:
There is another American (his name's Mike & he is also from FL) who works part time where I work at now, I told him to apply for a job there too & he has an interview there tomarrow. So if all goes well, we might both be working together again in the same company. ::fc::
I'm sure Mike would appreciate your prayers as well. ::nod:: ::tu:: Thanks! ::handshake::

Good luck to both of you! If the topic of hobbies or "tell me
a little about yourself" comes up, you can always talk about knife
collecting. :D
.......non-threating knives of course.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the thoughts & prayers everyone. ::handshake:: I do appreciate it! ::nod:: ::tu::

Mike & I both had our interviews & they both went well. ::tu:: However, we will probably both pass on this job. Low pay & you must wait two years before you get a full fledged work contract from them. ::td:: Mike is still thinking it over, I've pretty much decided to turn it down. ::disgust:: Out of the frying pan & into the fire if we switch.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. ::facepalm::

I hope you get the job you want.

That extra 10 minutes twice a day adds up, but drive time can be out to good use. You can use it to just chill and decompress, or listen to audio books. I know some listen to pod casts or news, but that was not relaxing for me so I limited those to just a small part of my commute.

Thanks John but without a college degree your pretty much screwed over here. I've been switching from one dead end job to the next for 30 years now. A touch of Appreciation would go a long way but I can't even find that to be honest about it. Don't want to be a pessimist but I have to admit that I have lost almost all hope. ::doh::

At least I have my Hobby. ::tu:: :D

Is that typical for Germany? Sounds like a raw deal to me.

Unfortunatley it has become typical for a large number of jobs. Not for White collar jobs for the upper class. Just for the Blue collar jobs. Especially in factories. They give you a one year contract. Followed by yet another one year contract. And then, if your lucky, you become a permanent work contract. But if anything goes wronge, like if they don't have as much work as they want or need, or if they are not happy with you for whatever reason, then they don't have to actually "fire" you, they just don't give you a new contract. Done. But the main reason is, companies get money from the Government if they hire someone who is unemployed. So they do. Then they just let their work contract run out so that they can hire the next unemployed person & get paid for it again and again, and again & so on. ::nod:: ::td::
