My sister Gayle

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

The spots they were worried about were cancer and they tried chemo, but she had life threatening reactions to the chemicals and since she wasn't feeling sick they decided to wait and watch, and deal with it when they had to. Gayle has gotten sicker and the spots are now tumors and have spread. She still isn't a good candidate for Chemo or radiation because of the type and location of the cancer and her body's tolerance for the drugs, but they have no more options and will start chemo this week, and will, unless God intervenes be on it for life. Depending on how her body reacts this time it might not be for long. The last chemo reaction was in the chair being administered, and they had to resuscitate her and that's why they stopped it before. We are asking for God to intervene and for divine healing and if God's sovereign is that she go through the treatment, that it be effective and that the side effects are mild and non-life threatening. Gayle is a strong Christian, and her testimony throughout this whole ordeal has been amazing and has already touched a lot of people. Thank you for your prayers before and in advance, now. ____Dave

Update on Gayle. The last Chemo ended up with her in the ER with a fever and today, two weeks later, she had her second one since restarting them. If she can't handle this one any better than the last one it she may decide to quit and see what God has in mind. Tomorrow the reactions start and get in full swing the day after tomorrow. Things look pretty bleak but who knows what God has planned. Thanks for your prayers. Dave

Dave, I will pray that Gayle can handle her treatments, so that she may be able to have fighting chance to beat this.

Dave I will pray the prayer that never fails. “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26-27‬ ‭NASB‬‬
“There are things in the old Book which I may not be able to explain, but I fully accept it as the infallible word of God, and receive its teachings as inspired by the Holy Spirit.”

Father, we ask for peace in Gayle's body. We asked that the chemo would only disrupt the cancer cells and that they would not affect the healthy cells in her body. We asked she would have no fever, no nausea, no negative side effects from the chemo. Lord we ask that she actually feels good during this round of chemo.

We asked this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus through whom all things were created, including Gayle. Amen

Since the last time I posted, Gayle had stopped Chemo because the cancer was growing while she was on it and the side effects were getting worse with each dose. She is now on hospice, has a lot of constant and severe pain that nothing they have tried has had given her any relief, and the hospice nurse told her it looks like she has a week or so left. Gayle is a strong Christian and has no fear of death and has reached the point where the fight just isn't worth it any more. She is worried about her husband being alone after around 40 years of a marriage where they did everything together. For the past month her husband, Mark, has had to do everything for her along with all the household stuff they always did together. Jane and I stopped in to visit today and basically say goodbye. Gayle is only 66 which when I was young seemed like an old lady. I'm 72 and still think of her as my little sister. Please keep her and Mark in your prayers. It doesn't appear God has healing planned for her but the pain and worry about Mark is our focus now.____Dave
