Prayers for my Dad

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayers for my Dad

Post by Reverand »

I don't often post here in The Upper Room, but I do often read the requests here and pray for them privately. Now I am asking for some of you to pray with me. My 79-year-old father meets with a surgeon next week to schedule heart bypass surgery.
He is the strongest, and kindest man that I know. He was always my most fair critic when I failed, and my encourager when I did right. He taught me to work hard, to be honest, and to love Jesus.
His name is Billy. Here is a picture of him a few months ago with one of his great-grandsons.
6ACCBFCA-EF14-4C72-9103-8AC7668C0AC6.jpeg
I pray for the surgery to go well, and for him to heal quickly. I am jealous for him, and want to have as many years with my parents as I can, but I know that we will face whatever comes with faith, with grace, and with joy.
Thank you!
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.

I will gladly lift your dad up in prayer.
May Gods healing hand guide the surgeon and those administering to his care. May God make his surgery successful and his recovery complete and without complications. May God give strength, comfort, and hope to him and to all those who know and love Billy. I pray in the holy name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Amen

I will join you in your prayers for your father. My dad will be 90 in a couple of weeks and he would never have made it if he hadn't had hundreds of people praying for him!

Father, bless Billy with Your healing power. Strengthen him, Lord. I pray You will cause the surgery to go well and to bring quick healing to Billy. All this for Your glory. In Jesus's name. Amen.

Praying for your dad and your family, and the surgeons and caregivers. Bypass surgery is fairly routine these days so praying his surgery is routine and he is able to quickly return to full and active life.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers. We found out today that his surgery will be on the 30th, and it will be a Triple Bypass. We had expected it to be sooner.

Praise Report:
Dad had the triple-bypass surgery yesterday morning. All four of us children were there for him. He did very well, and though he is experiencing a lot of pain he has been moved out of ICU this morning, and does what he can to lift my Mom's spirits.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers. So far the medical staff is impressed with his progress and his humor. God is good!

That’s great news. Praise be to God.

If it’s any comfort to you, my dad lived a very active life for over 25 years after having 6 bypasses, back when that surgery wasn’t as commonplace. Daily walks became a habit, but his diet was terrible.
