A Prayer of Deliverance

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

I think the following story came from one of you on AAPK. Anyway it's not
mine, but I got to thinking about it this morning.

WAIT ON THE LORD
"One Sunday morning at a small southern country church the new pastor called on one
of his older deacons to lead in the opening prayer. The deacon slowly stood up, bowed
his head and said, “Lord…..I hate buttermilk.”

"The pastor opened one eye and wondered where this prayer was going."

"The deacon continued, “Lord….I hate lard.”

"Now the pastor was totally perplexed."

"The deacon continued, “Lord…..I ain’t too crazy bout plain flour neither…..But after
you mix’um all together and bake‘um in a hot oven…..I just love biscuits.”

"The deacon continued, “Lord help us to realize when life gets hard, when thangs come
up we don’t like, whenever we don’t understand what You’re doing, we needs to wait
and see what You’re making. After you get through mixing and baking, it’ll probably be
some thang better than biscuits. Amen.”

My prayer today.
Father I believe this is a very good message for me today. I'm very tired of this "shelter in " routine Lord.
I have sinned against you Lord and I have had my doubts about your purpose. My faith has been tried
and I have been found wanting Lord. Father forgive me, lift my spirit with your word, renew my strength
and most of all teach me to wait on you Lord for I know Lord if I keep my eyes on you all my cares and
worries over this storm will soon disappear. In the blessed name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

That is just the best illustrative story I have heard in a LONG time David.
I really thought like the preacher when I read the first line....then the second was just about like the first.
BUT, then it ALL came together when the deacon prayed that he liked those biscuits.
.
I agree.... we never see why the Lord gives us butter milk...... and we wonder why He gave us the lard..... BUT, then when God makes us batch of good ole biscuits.

Heavenly Father...
Your will and purpose for our lives is perfect. We can never see Your plan for our life until we look back and see all the trials you brought us through. May we be patient and accept Your will for us as You lay it out daily.
Your will is perfect.
Thank you Father in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen
