Prayers for a quick recovery

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayers for a quick recovery

Post by treefarmer »

There is an amazing young man in our area that was involved in a serious accident yesterday. He fell from a tree stand as he was setting it in place for the upcoming deer season. He broke both legs and both ankles, crawled to his 4-wheeler, rode it to his truck to get to his phone. EMS was unable to find him so he rode the 4-wheeler on out to the road and then to a nearby house where he finally got help. He was flown to a hospital in Dothan, AL.
He underwent successful surgeries on both legs today, pins, screws and plates, 4-6 weeks off his feet. (There was great concern for his back but apparently there was no injury to it.)
Pray for Matt Naker's quick recovery.
The amazing part about this young man is that several years ago he was consumed by a drug habit. He had married a girl from our church and with the proper encouragement he went to a faith based recovery center way down in south Florida for almost a year. He graduated and returned to his home and is a full time employee/minister of a similar faith based recovery center in a town near us. He spoke at one of our men's meetings several months ago and gave a wonderful testimony how the Lord had blessed him to reclaim his life. He and his wife are blessed to have a 1 year old son.
Please pray for Matt's recovery and return to his family and the responsibilities he has at his job.

Update on young Matt:
Saw his mother-in-law yesterday and he is doing very well! Still has not put weight on the broken bones, following doctors strict orders. Should be getting close to rehab time. She said he says he wants to be in the woods on opening day. There seems to have been a great outpouring of recognition of his work in the community. It is just simply the hand of the Lord using a young man who allowed God to turn his life around!
Please continue to remember Matt and Lori Naker in your prayers as they get over this hurdle in life.

Just wanted to update Matt's progress. His mother-in-law told us yesterday at church he was doing well, had an upcoming doctors appointment in a few days and still hasn't been allowed to put weight on his limbs. Please continue to pray for this fine young couple as I'm sure he wants to be back and involved in the ministry the Lord has blessed them to be in plus I'm sure he wants to make it to the deer woods.
Here is a recent picture of Matt and his sweet wife Lori. By the way they are expecting their 2nd child.
Here is the folks you've been praying for, Matt and Lori.
