I lost a friend last Friday

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

I lost a friend last Friday

Post by Meridian_Mike »

My good friend Ernest Hamm, who was a very respected football official passed away last Friday. This was just once week after he called his last high school football game.
He started to feel bad while at the game a week ago on Friday night. Saturday morning, he went to the doctor and he tested positive for coivid19.
Ernest fought this disease for a week before he lost the battle. Just one week, to the day, after being on the field and actively calling a game.
.
PLEASE everyone, do not let your guard down. Stay safe in any way you can. This covid mess is real and it is out to get us.
.
Please pray for his family in this time of sorrow. I have no idea who all was exposed to covid through Ernest. I would bet his wife will soon have it too.
.
Heavenly Father....
Please give us all the wisdom we need so we can avoid this terrible disease. Please give Ernest's family comfort and hope during this time of tragedy. Father, you are our strength.
In Jesus name I pray.

I’m very sorry to learn of this, Mike. It’s always difficult to lose a friend, or a family member under any circumstances but especially when it happens so suddenly. Praying for the family and friends that God may give y’all comfort and strength in this time of grief and mourning.

Mike, i'm sorry to hear of your friend's death. At least his suffering was not prolonged.
This virus is so hard to understand. Some people barely get sick and others, equally healthy, die within a week. I practiced medicine for 35 years and never saw or heard of any illness anything like Covid 19.

Once again, that you all for your heart felt good wishes and prayers. This is a time we should all draw close to our Heavenly Father.
.
I do think about Ernest every day. He was a good friend and a good gentle person that was ALWAYS there to help.
And YES, I agree Roland, I don't think there has ever been such a disease that effected people so differently.

I'm very sorry to hear that Mike. May our father comfort them & you. ::pray::

It's also pretty scary. If you imagine what good shape & health he must have been in and he lost the fight against Covid 19 in one week.

I'm out of shape, overweight, unhealthy eater, high blood pressure, smoker, ect.

My wife (a nurse) says there can be a set of symptoms that go from a severe cold all the way to extreme respiratory distress. Who knows what it will be like if you get exposed and come down with a case?

Well, that does it. We have to put are absolute trust in the Lord, for only he knows what will be. Times like these, fully surrender yourself too the Savior, and he will watch over us, his children. Bad things may happen in this life, but HE will always be there for us. Have faith brothers! For Christ shed his precious blood on the cross for you, me, us all. So that we may be fully forgiven of are sins, are rebellion against Him who sits on the throne. And we may become his precious children, pure white as snow. And we will one day reign with Him, at his right hand, for ever and ever, amen.
God Bless you all!
