A LIFE COMPLETED

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

A LIFE COMPLETED

Post by Quick Steel »

Yesterday evening I received the call I knew would one day come. My closest friend finished his life's journey and went home to his Creator and Father. I first met James in OCS at Ft. Knox. We were assigned to the same tank battalion in Germany. Through the decades the mystery that is friendship simply grew until consciousness left him.

James Olenn became a gifted lawyer, the go to attorney for judges and lawyers who had their own legal troubles. The lawyer for anguished parents who lost their daughter. The police and courts said it was an accident. My friend James learned to scuba dive and went down 80 feet in the Caribbean to the site of the incident. Ultimately he proved the death was murder and justice was rendered.

But he and his wonderful wife Mary would agree that his most important accomplishment was his family; two outstanding and talented sons. He doted on his numerous grandchildren, playing dolls with the girls and participating in their tea parties.

I ask for your prayers for the family. Although the end was foreseen, it is never easy. Mary and I spent time on the phone doing a bit of reminiscing and crying together, but content that in the darkness that embraced his mind he had some dim awareness that he was loved.

Garry, it’s hard losing a friend, but it’s especially hard when that person was such a gift to others. I will add the family and you to my prayers.

It is always HARD to give up such a close friend.
James left a very beautiful legacy behind and he will be remembered for ages. HIs influence and leadership will live on in those he influenced!

Heavenly Father, Please be with the family and loved ones of James and give them all comfort during this hard time.
We know and are assured that You loved James. Please welcome James to your kingdom with your infinite love and caring.
We praise you Father for your mercies.

In the name of our Savior Jesus Christ we pray.

Garry, sorry for the loss of your friend. You said it best - “went home to be with his Creator and Father”. May the Lord comfort his family and friends. ::pray::
