Letting it go.

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

I can find low wage jobs here & have had two interviews with job offers but they didn't want to pay enough for a guy to live on. That's the problem, finding something that pays enough to raise a family on. Plus the price of gas here is out of this world at almost $8 a gallon. ::woot:: I needed 50€ or about 57$ a week for gas at my last job. It was about a 40-min. drive. That's well over $200 a month just for the gas to get to & from work. ::doh:: And I drive a small car that gets good mileage too. What I need is a good paying job that's not too far away or in other words, a miracle. I'm tired of working dead end jobs that don't pay. I guess that kind of sums it all up. I'm tired. Mentally, physically & financially tired. ::facepalm:: Sorry for bit--ing. :|

You hang in there brother! Keep cracking @ it, good things come to those who are patient, and persistent.
Maybe, just maybe brother, the Lord is saying broaden your scope from Germany, maybe He wants you in another place?...

It's a real learning experience for all of us, in thankfulness for the work that we each have.

Tom, I've been having the same thought that Willy has. That is, perhaps a move is indicated. Around my neighborhood, everybody is desperate for workers. We have three auto parts manufacturers. I hear the pay is good, the hours long. But all over the country employers of every type are looking to hire. Moving of course would be a huge step requiring lots of prayer and consultation if you know someone whom you believe has good judgment.

There are good paying jobs around here, problem is very few people want to work. They would rather live off someone else, bums!

Willy, QS, Samb

Appreciate your comments & prayers friends. ::handshake:: ::nod::

I have often thought of moving back over to the USA but I just don't have the $$$. If I sold my house I could pay off my depts, pay for the move & maybe have a few thousand $ left over. But..., I have a wife & three children and a few thousand $ don't last very long. I'll turn 50 this year. Starting over with nothing at 50? ::shrug:: It's a hard call. I don't think I have the guts for it. Been through it with my own parents before & it's not easy.

Another option would be..., I come over & find work, then buy a house, and then my family could come over. That's how I'd do it but my wife won't go along with it. ::doh::

Question. How long does a guy have to have a good steady job to be able to get a house loan with Zero down payment? 6-months ::shrug:: 3-years ::shrug:: Impossible ::shrug::

Another (bad) option would be..., I start a non-profit Organisation that helps Americans living abroad move back to the USA. I know, crazy idea. ::dang:: I wouldn't know how to do it and I don't think it would work anyways. ::hmm:: Just throwing the idea out there in case somebody else wants to do it. ::rotflol::

Last option, I just stick it out here. Things could be worse. ::nod::

If the good lord wants me in the states, he'll have to send me the funds.

No worries, it will all work out sooner or later. ::nod:: ::tu::

Tom, Google will provide you with a lot of information about buying a house with zero down. Just type in the question: Can I buy a house with no down payment?

Being retired military, I was able to with a VA loan.

Glad to hear it buddy! ::tu:: ::handshake::

Everyone over dare has helped me so much, with handling said-topics. I've learned the "bread & butter" of basic, personal finance, from Him (them). He got me grounded in the basics of investing, it's lot's of fun watching my money grow "hands-off"...

Nothing radically new they're teaching! It's just common sense, back to the basics; stuff, that are ancestors did to become stable financially.

Hope it helps Tom!

That's exactly what I'm doing JP. ::nod::

I used to get nervous when I was looking for a job so I took anything I could get. I took the first job I could get. I have finally figured out that that's getting nowhere fast. This time I'm being a little bit more picky about it. Not much, just a little. Maybe I can find something better this time. ::shrug::

Hi Folks,

I had a job interview yesterday. Got a call this morning that I can have the job with a bit less pay than I was asking for & a bit less vacation time than I'd liked to have had but I agreed to take it anyways. I also have to work one saturday per month. ::doh:: Oh well, it could be wrose & I already turned down 3 jobs so I didn't want to press my luck too far. ::paranoid:: Anyways, I can start on the first of Feb. ::tu:: I'll give it a fair shot with a possitive attitude & time will tell. ::nod:: I hope that I like it because I hate being unemployed or looking for jobs.

Thanks for your prayers & kind comments! ::handshake:: I appreciated your support! ::nod:: :D

Great to hear Tom. I pray it works out for you, a job you're happy with all the way 'round.
I learned a long time ago that more money does not always promise a better job.
I've come to appreciate a job I'm happier with over a job that pays more yet puts me on Paxil (anti-depressant, hated it. Left the job, off the Paxil ::groove:: )
Besides, nothing stopping you from staying on the hunt.
Take care and God bless,

That's great news. As long as you like the job and do well at it, you will be recognized for your work at some point, and good things can come from that.

Congrats!!!
