Prayer For My Mom

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayer For My Mom

Post by orvet »

I got a phone call from my niece just before noon today. She is taking my mom to the ER for a blood transfusion. She has severe anemia and her white blood cell and red blood cell counts both are extremely low. Which explains a number of symptoms she's been having. She went to the doctor yesterday and they called her today and said go to the emergency room immediately. Feel free to put this on your church prayer chain. Our family certainly appreciates your prayers! Mom is a believer and just had her 92nd birthday yesterday November 30th. My dad will be 92 in a couple weeks. Please pray the Lord would give them both peace and the doctors could find a way to control her pain.

UPDATE:
I was unable to post this earlier today because I got a lot of phone calls regarding my mom. She has been admitted to the hospital and they will keep her for 2 days to watch her and monitor her and of course to administer the transfusion.

Thank you all for your prayers, I know you prayed for them both many times. Someday you'll get to know them in heaven, they're pretty neat people.
Thank you all for your prayers.
God bless you all.

Dale, both you and your Mom are in my prayers daily. Take comfort in knowing that your friends here at this forum are all praying for you. I know you have a huge load to deal with right now. I pray for God to give you strength to be strong during these tough days. God looks lovingly on your Mom as HIS child. He loves her and will make sure the best is done for her.

Heavenly Father, please send the Holy Spirit to comfort and strengthen Dale as he attends to his Mom. We also know that Alison still has some radiation treatments to endure. We thank you for giving her body the physical strength to make it to the completion of the chemo treatments.
Father, we know the Holy Spirit will minister to all members of this family. This is your promise to us from your Word.
Holy Father, we thank you for our daily blessings.

May your will be done in our lives. In the name of our Holy Savior, Jesus Christ we pray.

UPDATE
The hospital where Mom is is very covid paranoid, the Patient Coordinator, or some such title, said we could only have 1 person per day in to visit Mom. I wished her good luck at stopping my dad when he got there! They relented and let my brother and stay and visit and then when my dad and niece, Rachel, got there with her 4 year old, they were all three allowed to visit mom. I think the hospital just wasn't doesn't want a lot of people because they are afraid of Covid omicron.

Because of the distance involved and the fact that Rachel has some medical background and she lives on the property with mom and dad, she was appointed the point person on updating us about mom's condition. The hospital made it clear they didn't really want to talk to every member of the family to update them. To be fair, we do have a large family so it could take us a portion of one person's time to deal with calls from my relatives!
I talked to mom last night and she is confused enough she doesn't always realize why she's in the hospital or exactly what's going on. Part of that is old age and part of it is the ailments itself and probably the medication they have her on.

This was Rachel's update last night:
Grandma will be in the hospital for a while until they figure out what is going on with her and she gets stronger. She felt a little better today after another unit of blood. Her doctor is checking several things and trying to get to the source of the problem. Grandpa is very tired and need prayers from comfort and rest for him. He is very worried about her.

My dad is very concerned and he is very weak as well. He has diabetes and a bad heart. His pacemaker keeps him alive but it doesn't give them enough energy to do anything which really frustrates him. Neither of them wants to leave this earth without the other, So I imagine when one goes the other one will be closed behind.
I appreciate your prayers for my parents and my family. There are some family members who are not Christians you're welcome to pray for them also. Mom and dad are strong Christians. Please also remember Rachel as she cares for dad at the moment and coordinates communication with the hospital and the family. She's a pretty busy gal because she has five kids she's raising as well our youngest or three girls between the ages of three and six years, so she has her hands full.

I will update further as I get more information.
I want to reiterate how much I appreciate the hearts of the prayer warriors of AAPK who keep everyone in their prayers!

Dale, I don't have the words to tell you how I feel for your family and all they are going through right now. However, we have a Savior that knows my heart without me having to utter a word. I plan on sharing this report with our church tomorrow and there will be a special prayer time to bless and strengthen all of you and for God's perfect will in your lives. God Bless you and keep you my brother in Christ until we speak again.... ::pray::

Things have been pretty busy here. Mom is doing much better. I just got off the phone with her, she was even laughing. Dad's having a tough time at home by himself but hopefully they're going to let her go home sometime next week and they're trying to work out some sort of In Home Care for them both.

Thanks again you all for your prayers!
