Prayers for a fellow Deacon

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayers for a fellow Deacon

Post by Reverand »

I am asking all who would to pray with me for a fellow Deacon in my church, named Chad.
He was in a terrible car accident a couple of days ago and has many injuries, including some brain trauma. The doctors now have the bleeding stopped in his brain, but we do not know the full extent of the damage there.
We had planned to hold a shower and celebration tomorrow for him and his new bride, but that is obviously on hold.
We know the Great Physician, and trust in Him no matter what happens.

Thank you.
Jesus is life.

Lord Heavenly Father, we ask that you provide your Mercy and Grace for Chad in this time of need, according to your Perfect Will. Comfort his wife during this time, give her strength to endure, and the faith to trust you in Chad's healing. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Holy Father.... please send comforting angels to the bed side of Chad and especially for his family. Please give Chad the healing he needs.
We take comfort in knowing Chad is your child and that you give good gifts to your children.
May your will be done!

in the name of our Holy Savior Jesus Christ we pray.

The doctors have removed the sedatives to allow Chad to awaken, and have removed the ventilator. He is showing some small signs of improvement, so we are continuing to pray that God will bring him through this!

I was able to visit with Chad's family at the hospital yesterday (I could not visit him in ICU), and they are very encouraged by the prayers, and by his progress.
God has answered prayers in a very dramatic way:
Just one day before the doctors were very uncertain if he would ever awaken. Then Chad woke up, kissed his wife, and asked them to call and let him speak to his mother!
His speech is slow, and he is struggling, but he is already scheduled for rehab in a very good facility that specializes in patients with brain trauma.
God is good!

I want to thank all of you for praying, and thank our God for answering prayers!
Chad has moved into rehabilitation, and is doing well. His speech is normal now, though he still has trouble thinking straight. He has recorded a video for us to play at church tomorrow, thanking everyone for their prayers.
As a funny note, almost a week ago the doctor asked Chad if he knew his own name. Chad couldn't remember it. Then he pointed to Chad's wife and asked if he knew her name. "That's Shay! I love her!"

We still don't know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow!

I am sorry to be late in posting this, but my Deacon buddy was in church service with is last Sunday - he even helped lead the music! He still has some struggles, but to have come this far in 32 days is a true miracle!
I praise our Lord for what He has done, and for the plans that He has for us!
