ANSWERED PRAYERS

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

ANSWERED PRAYERS

Post by Quick Steel »

I just got off the phone with my sister Laura. Everything was benign. What the doctor thought were new lumps turned out to be scar tissue from her first surgery years ago. She had deliberately lost about 12 pounds recently and the lost tissue [fat]made the scars look tumor like.

To all of you who took some time to pray for my sister's well being, I am grateful to you beyond measure. I thank our Lord for his abundant mercy and compassion. My sister wishes me to express her thanks for your prayers. 48 hours ago things were looking pretty grim. But now there is peace and health.

Again, thanks to each of you for your participation.

Well that is great news!! I had some testing done about 5 weeks ago and finally
saw the doctor last week. Working in health care is very satisfying but
the more you know ( and crazy symptoms and labs that people bring with
them to the hospital) make you extremely paranoid and anxious when
you have any symptoms or labs performed.

Great news, QS! My wife had a similarly alarming situation when she switched doctors a few years ago. Her new doctor wasn't taking her past medical history into account and assumed the worst when reading her x-rays.

Maybe if doctors would have to pay a substantial fine for every misdiagnosis, these anxiety inducing errors would be greatly reduced.

God bless your family, Garry.

To your last post: Yes, I think they should be held accountable in some way.
I have been misdiagnosed at least two times at the V.A. and had to endure some extreme anxiety.
I was carted off to another hospital, at the time I was taking care of my Susan on a daily/hourly basis and I couldn't
care for her. The hospital did call the police where I live and got some help in the house for her, much to her alarm.
And what health issues did I have? NONE! Absolutely none. Nurses at the second hospital after many tests: "There's nothing wrong with this guy". And I couldn't leave because the V.A. wouldn't pay for the "emergency admittance" if I left the hospital. I had to spend the night. Hey, ya cant let a crises go to waste, we can bill the V.A. for an all night stay with this guy. I was obviously healthy!
Rant over.
