How about some really good news for a change?

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

How about some really good news for a change?

Post by Colonel26 »

Some of y’all know that my day job is as a high school teacher in a public school. The county where I teach, in many ways, is the land that time forgot, and I like it that way. I drive 41 miles one way to teach here, and have been doing so since 2005.

Now there are many reasons why I choose to stay here, even though I’ve had multiple chances to go elsewhere. This is one of them. Some of the teachers who are a whole lot more artsy and creative than I am decorate their doors with seasonal themes. This is one of them.

I understand where you're coming from Wade.
Been away from our school district 14 years, at that time a door dressing like that would not have been an issue. Lots of teachers had expressions of their faith posted in classrooms. It's great to live in an area that as you say, "time has forgotten." ::nod::

My children went to the same High School that I did, and teachers are able to express their faith there, too.
I know that it will only last up until the wrong person complains about it, but I am thankful that it has continued so far, and pray that it will continue for a long time to come.
Jesus is life.

So nice to see and hear about… completely awesome! (And clever too!)

Now… if we could get the other bazillion schools in this country to ‘eject’ their leftist school boards and administrators (who would never permit this decoration) and then we could all to get back to rational thinking and behaving

I really LOVE that!
It is wonderful to know that Jesus hasn't been totally banned from our school system.

As soon as I read the phrase "the land that time forgot" I knew it
would be good. It is sad this country has really crushed teachers
and the school system because of a limited few. We have lost
more than we have gained.
