BOTH.

He's WAY overpriced and that just proves there's a sucker born every minute. ::dang::

There are some obviously loaded guys at some of the razor forums that enjoy posting pics of the stuff they paid a LOT of $$ for.

I like posting pics of stuff I didn't pay a lot for because I WON'T PAY A LOT!! ::tounge::

Me too! I was buying razors when knife dealers and antique dealers were practically giving them away, they were cheap so I bought them all :) Glad I did now

Same here Dimitri;that's when I got most of mine.Gee I wonder what they would give for a 7 day Wade,Wingfield, and Rowbotham set presented to someone in 1893? I paid $50 for them about 20 years ago which is the absolute most I've ever paid for razors. Most of them were in the $2-$5 range.

That 7 day set will sell for 300 to 500 easy on ebay maybe more as you don't see that maker's stuff very often. Although sometimes that hurts a price if they aren't a "BIG" name even though the razors are top notch.

That is a very nice set Ray 8) ::tu::

I always wanted one but could never bring myself to spend what they wanted for them.

I do have a partial set that I hoped to complete one day

Looks like somebody went ape for carved ivory is all I can guess. ::shrug::

BUT, I don't think they're ivory. The pin looks wrong compared to the three I have.

I have no idea what that rusty old razor might be worth.

I think, though, that a good many razor collectors would be more properly called razor handle collectors.

Possibly, that is a rare handle (I have no idea) and someone is willing to pay whatever it takes to get it. I don't think the brand nor the condition of the metal has anything to do with it.

This Robeson snake handled razor sold on Ebay some years ago for $685.00.

Go figure.

I don't think any Robeson razor is worth that kind of money to a Robeson collector. That handle, however, sure rang somebody's bell.

Scale collectors.

Strange bunch in my opinion. LOL

Ain't ivory from where I sit either. Like I said earlier, it's pinned wrong for ivory and only has one pin, so it's either a one piece scale or it's glued.

I bet that seller s... a twinkie. ::woot::
