colonel coon value

Post by skipc »

i was wanting to know the value of a colonel coon joint venture knife with colonial knife works.i purchased a knife recently off ebay that was represented as a vintage col. coon but i saw the knife pictured on the unofficial col. coon website under new discoveries.i guess this knife is closer to a real col. coon than the new ones made by queen ,and according to the website only 1000 were made so i was just curious about the value.the real made in tennessee coons appear to be a little out of my price range so this may be as close as i can get.any help would be appreciated.

::welcome:: to AAPK,

There are a few Coonsters who frequent this site and I'm sure they would be glad to offer up their expert opinions about your knife. Only thing is it is darned near impossible to tell you anything without some pictures of the knife in question. If you can post some pictures, including a good clear shot of the tang stamp, I'll round up the Coon Clan and see what they can tell ya.

Howdys scip. . . and welcome to AAPK
Yer knife is exactly what the colonelcoon.net website sez
it is. It is a knife ""Licensed by"" Mr Harris, made by Colonial
to address the cheaper market knives in hardware stores.
Is it a TRUE COON like the 1978-88 COONS that came out
of Mr Harris' Tenn Knife Works????? NOPE NOT CLOSE
But it IS a part of COON history.. So much so
that I own two of them. They sell for around $100 when
you see them for sale. I'd invite you to visit the chat room
in the evenings. There ARE times there that discontent,
name callin, knife bragging and cussin is interupted by
heartfelt cutlery discussions... LOLOLOL
I also invite you to see some 1978-88 COONS here on the
AAPK website under the COON PIC page.... heres the link
http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 73&t=16800
regards... Dave

::paranoid:: Looks like one of them Coonsters showed up all on his own. Hope he answered your question to your satisfaction. I'll second the invite to join us in the Chat Room most any evening. Sometimes it gets pretty deep in there but it's a good time for all.
