THE THREE MUSKA-COONS

Colonel Coon Knives were made by Adrain A. Harris, Mr. Harris started making fixed blade knives as a hobby in the 60's, in 1976 he became the only authorized field repairman in the U.S. for Schrade, a few months later he became the only authorized repairman for Kissing Crane and J.A. Henckels in the United States, in 1978 he founded Tennessee Knife Works Inc. in his home town of Columbia, Tenn. and began making Colonel Coon Knives the old style a true bench made or handmade pocket knife. In 1988 he sold his manufacturing processes to W.R Case & Sons and retired.

THE THREE MUSKA-COONS

Post by MrBlister »

Here's 3 rather unique COONS.
Firstly a long slant bolster jack
and an ivory stockman..BOTH made by Ben Wells
who was to Mr Harris, what Robin was to Batman.
He was trully an artist in the cutlery world, as
evidenced by his file work. Note the Ben Wells
tang stamp. All these from COON parts, of course.
Lastly,,,, Ive become interested in the VERY FEW
COONS that were made for intities OTHER than
knife clubs. Heres one made for a company in KY
called "Hard hat". The ONLY STAINLESS blade COON
ive ever seen...
Anyone with info on this company
or knife???

regards.. Dave

Dave I have been mulling it over for a couple of days now and I just can't hold it in any longer. You know it isn't right to have that nice Kentucky knife down there in that old hot sultry weather in Texas. Some things are just wrong and you know it. :x

Send that one up here where it belongs and I'll provide proper sanctuary for that little feller. It's the least I can do. After all Ky. is mo better than Tejas.
