Bulldog blade etchings

Would someone show me the difference between a clear and solid etched blade.
Also a S&D our best.

I had not thought of it thay way before, so will have to guess. The S&D and the Pitbull etch are probably solid, so maybe the Bulldog Brand on the barlow would be clear? What would that make the Sunfish and Peacock etches?

I always referred to the old "OUR BEST" blades as "REVERSED FROSTED" whereas the Peacock was an "ETCHED BLADE". I never heard the term clear or solid only as referring to the CUT PLUG with the Clear Overlay on the handles as opposed to the solid Butter & Molasses handles.
