Beautiful knives, Tom.
How long are they? When were they made?

Re: !st generation pearl gunstock set
Thanks, Joe and Wade,
They were released in 1980, they are 3 1/2" closed. Charlie Dorton took 42 sets of these and engraved the bolsters and scrimshawed the Pearl. Charlie didn't do things halfway. This is only the second set I have ever seen and the 1st set didn't have the Pearl scrimshawed. I think they are really pretty. They were in a collection of rare Bulldogs I picked up a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks,
Tom

Wow, I didn't notice the scrimshaw until I enlarged the pics. Beautiful knives.

So are those your birthday present to yourself Tom ? If so, you've done good.

Thanks for the comments guys. I always admired Charlie Dorton and the way he was a perfectionist with his knives.
He partnered with Robert Roark, "Robinetn" on AAPK with the Krack a Jack knives and those are sought after in the market today. You hardly ever see one for sale. I know because I look. They are top quality knives as well!

Re: !st generation pearl gunstock set
Tom I can hardly believe I just discovered these pearl gunstocks. My only excuse is that I was a year away from becoming interested in Bulldogs.
Do you still have either of these knives or are they long gone? If they remain with you, do you have any inclination to sell one?
