ZIPPO Lighters
Re: ZIPPO Lighters
That was from Series One and there were six different lighters in the series. There was also Series Two and Three, again, six lighters each. I have Series One and Two.

Re: ZIPPO Lighters
......always wondered what it was worth, t.j.,a friend of mine who is a WW2/airplane nut like me offered me $50.00 for it once, but I decided to keep it................. ..................
Re: ZIPPO Lighters
I inherited this one from an ex-girlfriend's Ma when she died. Pretty sure it's from Occupied Japan post WWII. Sterling silver, bamboo motif and has "Stew" engraved in lower left corner, and what I would imagine is the maker's name in Japanese on the back. It has the old zippo insert. I asked the daughters who Stew was and they had no idea and said it was probably one of her old boyfriends. Anyhow, it is for sale or trade... if any of y'all are interested. I can provide more photos if you like. Funny side note... when me and the daughter broke up I tried to give it back and she said... well, I can't repeat what she told me to do with it other than she told me to keep it.

...and here's one that I carried while I was in the Marines. I used a battery powered dremel to engrave it with... yeah it is rough and sloppy but I really had no idea what I was doing. I keep it though because it brings back good memories from the Corps. We had quite a few Mexican/Americans in my unit and they called me "Pablito" said I looked like a little kid and it just sort of stuck. Now that we are older they just call me Pablo.

Re: ZIPPO Lighters
Pablo that second one is a lighter with some very cool history.
The other one, well........glad you didn't do what she told you to do with it.

Is the lighter dented as badly as it appears?Pablo wrote:I inherited this one from an ex-girlfriend's Ma when she died. Pretty sure it's from Occupied Japan post WWII.
