Kabar stag folding hunter

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Kabar stag folding hunter

Post by edge213 »

I purchased this Kabar folding hunter from Steve Pfeiffer. It's a beauty.
Wondering if anyone would know approximate date of manufacture.
Steve thought in the 1980s, but was not sure.

We'll need a little more to go on. Pics, man! Tang stamp in particular. But, really, every knife thread needs a pic, even if it's unrelated to anything....just because. Here is an incomplete, inaccurate tang stamp chart for Ka-Bar. It's worth what ya paid for it, I guess.

Looks to be a Ka-Bar Collectors Club Knife. If so it would be from the 80’s-90’s era. Check the rear tang stamp, it may have a stamp like CK 92 or some such. The digits indicate year of manufacture. Pretty knife.
