I think I bought a KBAR …

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

1923 to present doesn’t narrow it down much .

Blade is 3-1/2 “ overall 7

Goins is mistaken there. Your knife was made between 1952 when the mark changed from KA-BAR to Kabar and circa 1969 when Cole National who bought KA-BAR Inc in 1966 began putting the model numbers on their knives. Impossible to narrow an age down beyond that. Fine condition for sure.

Thanks Gunsil . This knife is in really nice condition. It looks to have been carried, but doesn’t appear to have been sharpened. I am glad it’s not too good to be true ! :D
