Schrade shd 1

Post by Clark Doc Savage »

This a knockoff of the D'Holder Schrade collaboration. See how the stock number is reverersed from the orginal D'Holder USA which I believe was sc 1dh. This knife is advertized as a custom knife and in some webstores as having 440C steel others simply say 440 steel which usually means 440A. It is a Taylor Chinese I bought to compare with a USA model. The knife looks wise isn't bad. The stag at the bolster fit isn't perfect. I know You can't pry what steel his knive are made of out of from Taylor but does anyone know if this one is made of 440C? Thanks

I cannot verify it but many Chinese made knives claim 440C and seem to actually be made of it...Herb

Herb that's the troble most places that have it for sale list it as 440C. Some say 440A. I guess well never know as Taylor usually will not say. It could be what is supposed to be the Chinese equivalent of 440C- 8cr13mov. But I have read wher this is more like 440B.
