Rough Ryder working man half-hawk

Post by Beavertail »

Just seen this on SMKW.
It lists country of origin as Chile.
I wonder if they have changed where they're being manufactured ::shrug::

It's a typo. Somebody fell down on the job and didn't proofread. They're still made in China.

Thanks Jerry. ::handshake::
It's a good looking knife but I don't like the clip on the back.
I guess I could remove it.

I'm not thrilled with the clip. In fact I didn't even know it had one until I bought it and got it in hand. For me, that green is butt ugly. That's why I'm getting it rehandled.

This is Jeffinn's picture. He's finished with the rehandle. He did it in horn (I believe he said). Now isn't this much nicer than that green?

Now that is beautiful!!! ::woot::
I had Jeff rehandle my father's old Boker but didn't know he would rehandle a Rough Ryder.
You got me to thinking I may get one and see if he can put the same bone as the Boker.

I have one of them! It’s a bit unique, but it’s a loomfixer, that’s the important thing!

I've got one . That Ramsfoot blade is cool . Mine is a Coal Miner series . Black pick bone . There's still some new ones floating around on the bay . The fit and finish on mine is one of the best Rough Riders I have . One of the first Rough Riders I ever got . No clip removal needed and no green to get rid of

Love my LoomFixers, but the clip is an unwelcome aboration. I don’t mind the green obviously the water Buffalo bone is an improvement

Just ordered one early this morning. It's all the fault of Cuz. ::huff:: I didn't know it existed until he posted one in another thread. Looks to be a handsome young feller. No clip on this iteration but it does have that obnoxious "R" (molded, stamped?) on the bolster.

Tis indeed Carbon Steel.

"All of the knives in the Denim Micarta T-10 Carbon Steel Series feature T-10 carbon steel blades with a mirror polished finish, half stops, and match strike pulls. The handles are denim micarta with brass liners, and nickel silver pins and slant ‘R’ bolsters. This Rough Ryder Denim Micarta T-10 Carbon Steel Half Hawk features a sheepsfoot and pen blade. It's 3.875" closed. Rough Ryder is always built by hand and backed for life."
