Have a great day hunting. Just got in myself from another day of deer hunting - real foggy this morning, five hours on stand - nothing. Front coming in now, sat on stand two and a half hours this evening, saw two spike bucks (already got one of those so these got to walk) and one doe - too late to shoot with precision. My buddy, an active duty Marine down from Quantico for todays hunt, saw one shooter, but it wouldn't get close enough for him to shoot. Maybe tomorrow!!garddogg56 wrote:Going hunting with this W39 on VETERANS DAY my small knife will be a Kutco stockman.

Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

My little West-Cut # 335 that I probably carry more than any of my other knives just cuz it holds a edge so darn well. Guess I`m partial to Westerns without even realizing it.

Re: New forum!!!!
Those 335s are amazing! They really hold an edge.
I put stag on one & gave it to my dad.
He lost it and I had to give him the other one I had for me, though it still had the composition handles.
He finally found the one he lost, but didn't volunteer to give me back the spare!
He has had a lot of good and expensive knives, but insists the West Cut 335 holds an edge better than any of them!

Hey Dale,
I have to agree with you and your Dad. I finally found my photos of this little jewel. Maybe I can talk you into rehandling this one for me one of these days. It needs it. A couple pins seem to be gone on one side but the handles are holding in place ok so far but the handles are pretty worn. I keep imagining what it would looks like with stag handles and a little more buffing on the blades which are still in fine shape!!

I tried to find a pic of the one I did for my Dad, but I guess I didn't get a picture of it.
