Remember last week? Different people this time!

Post by TripleF »

Same location for my coffee and I see a younger couple in what I think may be a homeless scenario, you know….a little tattered looking, but they’re young…...so I’m perplexed.

They go out ahead of me…..When I get to my car. Where are they? You guessed it…..sitting on the sidewalk edge eating their breakfast and having coffee.

I almost left…..had the engine started and I said, I have to go ask.

Everything ok?

He replies, yeah we’re ok. Homeless but butter than yesterday. We at least have food.

I’m thinking..nothing happens by accident, not that they’re homeless which isn’t good, but I’m in the exact same location on the same slab of sidewalk AGAIN, and I got this feeling….you know the feeling when you want to help, and you are able….yup, that’s it.

Where ya headed I ask?

Dade City.

Got family there I ask?

She does.

I see. Ok, here, maybe this will help a little. I gave them some money and they thanked me.

And I guess I better go back next Friday morning, huh?

That was outstanding Scott! I usually don't give cash to people who are panhandling, but in this case they were not panhandling they were eating breakfast. I think you made a good call. ::tu::

Good for you Scott, nothing beats that warm n' fuzzy feeling one gets from giving to others less fortunate than ourselves, and, you go to heaven for such selfless giving! Why can't we ALL behave in this manner ALL the time, imagine how pleasant the world would be if we only could! ::tu:: 8)
