4th of July Painting Project

Post by TPK »

Had three bird houses that needed some work done on em. They we all just glued together with wood glue & were all falling apart. Two were gifts from my daughters and were painted. One was unpainted.

Got em all down and got some screws put in em. Then I decided the two painted houses needed a touch up on their paint as well. After I got to painting I decided to go ahead and paint the third one also. Since it's the 4th of July I thought it should be painted with a Patriotic theme. ::nod::

So here are some before and after pictures. As soon as I got em hung up again and took some pictures it started pouring down rain. I was soaking wet by the time I got all the paint & brushes cleaned up & put away.

If you enlarge the Flag pictures you can see that some swallows have been working on building their nest to the top left corner of my window. They stuck mud on the wall in several places untill they setteled on the window corner. I'm not real crazy about the idea of having them there because I know they make a mess but what's a man to do? ::shrug:: Live & let live I guess. ::hmm:: At least they do eat flies & we have enough of them around here. ::nod::

Hope you are all having a great 4th of July Weekend! ::handshake:: ::super_happy::

Thanks for looking friends! :D

Looks great! What kind of birds do you attract to nest in them?

Great paint scheme, Tom. And I'd much rather have swallows around than flies!
