Another old leverlock...........

Post by knife7knut »

Bought this one in a bag of 3 dozen old knives for $20. The pivot pin was broken and in the process of trying to drill it out(it refused to be hammered out)the drill bit wandered a bit and as a result the hole is now off center.
Fitted a piece of 2-56 threaded rod and a couple of nuts to hold the blade and it works half decently.A little blade peek and it won't lock in the open position(a little tweaking should fix that)but it isn't a big issue.
The whole knife had a gold wash over it and I removed some polishing the rust off the blade.Looks a little crude but it works now.No maker's name but it looks to be of Spanish origin.

Yes that certainly is an unusual and nice old knife. The engraving really adds to the appearance.

Here is a shot of the group as I received them. The two Schrade-Waldens in the upper left corner both have a file blade as a secondary;the four miniatures in the upper center are very nice;the Compass Industries mini lockback(looks like a small Buck 110)is a very well made knife;there is a nice German pearl lobster and an unmarked(probably Salm)abalone handled knife;the large folding fish knife is German made(Skiffman)and one I haven't heard of).The rest are a mixed blessing.
