A new/old addition to the accumulation.........

Post by knife7knut »

Found a George Schrade bone handled double at an estate sale today. Not perfect(handles are though);the tab on the lock for the master blade is missing and for some reason the secondary blade won't close and lock.Possibly some crud under the spring;hard to see under it. Got it soaking in Break Free right now and will blow it out with compressed air tomorrow. For $20 I ain't complaining.

I would have given $20 for the bones, which is what, I guess, you did.
A great historical knife. I hope you can get it to work.

Very nice; the bone is great! Not a George Schrade, though; different company-Schrade Cutlery Company.

Thanks for noticing that! When I looked at the patent dates they weren't the same as my other doubles. Possibly an earlier knife.Have to do some research.

I posted this article from a 1932 New York newspaper back on April 14, it's the 5th picture down.
Check it out.
