Buck 110 Auto

Post by Camillus »

Here is a Buck 110 Auto with file work I purchased today at a local Gun and knife show.
I have a few Buck knives but not an Auto.

Nice knife, Camillus. ::tu::

I only own one serious auto and two push button autos.
If I could carry one in this state I think I would own more.

Very nice Camillus! Do you know if it's a factory model, or a conversion? I had heard that the conversions don't fire all that well, but the one's from the factory are like a cannon. Either way, enjoy your knife, it's a beauty! 8)

That style lever says it's a conversion. Bucks have Buck logo in distinctive button. IMO. Tom

Your Buck is a conversion.

Here is a pic of the Buck made auto.

Nice knife. Definitely a conversion, so don’t send it to Buck for any maintenance or repairs.

As long as you're happy with it Camillus that's all that matters. ::tu:: Whether it's an original or a conversion means little as long as you like your knife! ::groove:: I know I do! 8)

Whoever did the conversion to this Buck knife should be complemented, I’m very pleased with the way it functions.
I actually like the looks of my conversion better than the original.

I have seen several Buck 110 conversions with this style of release and they were all well done. I was gifted a 112 auto awhile back by a good friend of mine and fellow knife accumulator. A great little piece. I've never really liked the 110's because of their heavy handle weight but the 112 seems to be just right. Yours looks to be a really nice one. ::tu::

I don't know who did the conversion, but about 15 years ago one of the members of the Empire Knife Club in NYC showed up with about fifty of them. I bought five, have sold all of them. I sold them because somebody else (or maybe the same people) made a nicer conversion with a round button in the front bolster. I bought a few of those with nickel bolsters and dark wood scales, may have one left around here someplace. The guy I got the first batch from later told me Buck had a cease and desist court order against whoever did the mod. They are quality conversions but I found the button ones were easier to operate than those with that long push bar. If it came in a Buck box somebody put it in a Buck box, when purchased wholesale when new they had no boxes. All those I have had always fired well. I tried a Buck factory version two years ago at the Shenandoah show and prefer the non-factory conversions I have had.

It's a conversion, but nicer looking than the Buck factory knife, which by the way does not fire like a cannon. I have one from the factory and the snap is adequate but not like a cannon.
enjoy it. it's really nice.

Not 100% sure but that looks like a T bar K conversion done by Mike Fisher. His work is beyond top notch. If that's one of his, you've got a great knife.
