Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
My modest accumulation of Colonials and sub-brands:
4" stockman:
an Anvil
a Ranger (with full liners)
Barlow advertising the YELLOW freight line - I used to work with Consolidated Freightlines myself.
Fruit knife advertising Hormel's E.X.L extra lean - I have a Hormel and a produce connection, too.
Having long ago spent a year in Providence, I'm fond of all these wild finds.

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Recently, this pocket knife arrived and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my general pocket knife collection. It came in a very large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I am pleased to have it, but I did not buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a COLONIAL, two blades, two tang stamps, two springs, 2 5/8" closed (not including the bail), souvenir or tourist pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "COLONIAL (over) PROV. U.S.A. (over) ?012" I'm 99.999% sure that the first digit is a "2" The secondary blade front tang stamp says "COLONIAL (over) PROV. U.S.A." The shield says "UNDERGROUND FOREST - MICHIGAN" Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. It needed no cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice one David, that's an old one with the curved stamp. I have never seen that celluloid pattern/coloration before, I like it.

I have one that looks almost like it but it's a single blade and in bad condition, looks like it was run over by a truckNew_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 9:00 pm Recently, this pocket knife arrived and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my general pocket knife collection. I agree, Jimbo. That one was a gorgeous knife. I wonder if some pocket time would shine it back up?

I have a couple of the Ambassador knives Skip, and they can be a lot better knives than people often realize. They are made by Colonial to be an inexpensive gift for advertising, but they have good steel in them!
I carried one for quite a while and used it harf, but it held up just fine.
