Yes I agree. It looks like it should have an ad on itcody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 3:10 pmFirst I have seen with that tang stamp. I have one that was an NRA knife; and it was mostly seen with Lakota (mostly known for Japanese-made knives) and Colonial (uncommon, but they exist). They must have mostly marketed these as an advertising/"Your Logo Here" type knife.CluelessNick wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 12:02 pm Picked up this Ranger single blade with a liner lock the other day. It locks up tight and is really sharp.

This pocket knife, just one out of a group that I bought, arrived very recently. While NOT a Colonial, per se, it is "related" to Colonial. It is a PROV CUT CO. - PROV. R.I. U.S.A., 2 blade, 2 3/4" closed, pocket knife. The blades needed minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This arrived very recently in a group of pocket knives that I bought. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It is a COLONIAL, single blade, 4 5/8" closed, single tang stamp, "melon tester" pocket knife. This is my first "melon tester" pocket knife. It needed no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

That is a decent group of Colonials you have there, Skip. I had a 2-blades Colonial peanut that I carried for close to a year, but my daughter saw it and wanted it.
Sigh...I couldn't say "no" to those big brown eyes!
I have picked up a few more since. This thread has reminded me that I need to slip one of them i to my EDC rotation!

Thank you, Scott.
I bought a group of 84 pocket knives just to get one particular pocket knife.
There is a pretty good mix of Colonials, Imperials, Hammer Brands, etc., etc.
Oh, and of course, China is represented. Along with England, Germany and Italy.

These 2-7/8" serpentine advertisers are not hard to find and usually very reasonable. Picked this one up for $4 today. Factory edges and just slightly stained. I have had many of these and some of the glued on celluloid covers have separated from the scales, but are easily glued back on. They do make a fun, USA-made collection. J.O'.

Hello, men.
I'm new here and I'm from Crimea =)
Recently found and bought at a local online auction this stockman knife. Blades and springs made of carbon steel, the handle is some kind of plastic, and the bolsters are fixed according to a special patent system by Antonio Paolantonio. Through the patent number came to the fact that the knife was made by Colonial, Providence, USA.
I read this topic and did not find analogues in it.
I regret that I did not have time to ask RAP about him, let him rest in peace. A very kind, good man, according to reports here.

I have not seen one with the "Coast" name on it before, but it does look a lot like the Ranger series of knives made by Colonial.
Good, yet inexpensive knives.

Reverand, treefarmer, thanx a lot! Большое спасибо!
Such a good topic with mindful experts, love it.
I mean, it (I mean my Coast stockman) comes from early-mid 70s, like other Ranger series, its right?

SOLVED!
Tiny peanut stockman finally came and its master blade marked "COAST PORT. USA"
So, it definitely connected with Coast Cutlery Co, Portland, Oregon, as it said at treefarmer"s topic link and with impressive history of Colonial Knife Co too. Amazing "bridge" item!

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Received this Colonial lockback from an Ebay seller recently. Looks pretty common until you open the blade. Kind of a different shape for a Colonial. Is it possible that this was made in Pakistan for Colonial? I think I read somewhere that they had imported some from there in the end days. No Prov. R.I. or USA on tang stamp, just COLONIAL stainless. Brass bolsters with black saw cut delrin scales. Even so it is very well made and works perfectly. 6.75 in. OAL and 4.0 in. closed.

This fob/key ring style pocket knife is just one out of a group/lot of pocket knives that I bought recently. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It's a nice little knife and I decided to keep it. At least for the time being. While NOT a COLONIAL, per se, it is definitely "related" to COLONIAL. It is a PROVIDENCE CUTLERY CO., single blade, single tang stamp, 2 1/16" closed (not including the loop or ring), fob/key ring style pocket knife. The tang stamp reads, "PROV. CUT. CO. - PROV. R.I. U.S.A." It did not need any cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
