All About Pocket Knives

This Old Cutler (made by Colonial??) came in today's mail. It's 3-3/8" closed and doesn't look like it's ever been carried, used or sharpened.

Scott, I can see why you have regrets. I picked this one up because I'd read all the comments y'all had on the knives and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I realize the one I got is not up to the same standards as Scott's knife but it is an Old Cutler.

Nice snag there Cuz. I've never had one, but I've read here they're in the same level as an older Old Timer, that's a good thing.

This is another knife that was competition with the Old Timer line; The Anvil line from Colonial Cutlery.
Goins says they started about 1972.
The contour of the handle really made for a good grip when using the knife.
I am surprised they were not more popular than they were, but Old Timer had a BIG head start!

I got a 3 blade Anvil Stockman last week! It was new old stock without a box!

After reading Scott's high praise for the Old Cutler line by Colonial and after a little further research, I got a little interested in the knives. I read that they had 1095 steel and I thought, wow, knives with that steel go for big bucks right now. So I bought a couple and was impressed. One from Ray, another from Scott and also one from Sanders knives. The rest were off ebay. All very reasonable. Some were farmed out to Camillus, the muskrat here.

And one more, a little pen knife. Sorry for the glare in the pics.

I have a real nice Anvil 3 Blade Stockman I stole off the Bay!

Thought I would post this here. I purchased this Anvil Brand (made by Colonial) 3 inch two blade Serpentine Jack and the seller threw in a freebie in the package. A Old Cutler (Colonial made) 3 inch, three blade yellow handle Stockman. Neat little knife and has good snap with very little wear.

Very knice PB. I find those Old Cutler knives to be quality knives. Congrats.
