Bayes U.S.A. (Colonial) Purina Pocket Knife.

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

Very recently, this pocket knife arrived and it now becomes the latest example to join my general pocket knife collection. It came in a very large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I was pleased to find it, but I did not buy the group or lot for this particular pocket knife. It is a BAYES U.S.A., two blades, one tang stamp, 3 1/8" closed, advertising pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "BAYES (over) U.S.A." Per GOINS - "BAYES USA g 1970-1980 A Purina advertising knife." The main handle side says "PURINA" and has the familiar red and white checkerboard graphics. The other handle side says "PURINA" and also has the familiar red and white checkerboard graphics. Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition and it did not require any cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice! I have seen the Bayes Barlows, but had not seen their Purina knives until this one.

I was unaware of the connection of Bayes to Colonial. Guessing they were an ad agency or promo products company?
