Kershaw Set - SOLD

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Kershaw Set - SOLD

Post by Paladin »

Guys,
In a collection I acquired a while back I found a set of 6 Kershaw folders with stag handles. All bolsters are numbered 433/1200. I called Kershaw to get info on this group and the lady there knew nothing about them. She says that they have not had knives made in Japan since 1990 and that they kept poor records.
The pattern numbers on this batch are 4225, 4425, 4175, 4125, 4375 and 4325. The knives are all mint. No boxes or presentation case or such, just 6 nice Kershaws.
Do we have Kershaw collectors here? If so, I'll take $270 for the 6 and mail to you in the USA for that amount.

Ray

Very nice set!

These are the stag Officer Ranch set and might have come in a walnut display.

You can see them in the 1989 catalog.

Very fine information, mqqn; and better than the company itself could provide.

Thank you, Sir.

I would add that the price asked above was exceedingly fair. Someone received a very good deal on some fine knives.
