Kershaw Leek

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Good pick up, John. Was starting to worry if it would ever arrive. Looks like it finally did...Whew!

I really like the blade on my 1660GRYBW, but the handle is a little too small for my hand, which allows the tip of the blade to nick my palm when deploying the flipper.
The handle also is a bit slick and slippery, which concerns me....
That said, my Leek is not my primary EDC, but it does fit perfectly in the watch pocket of my jeans and so goes along for the ride most days.
I love the Leek's blade however, I would like the knife a lot better were the handle about a half inch longer.

I thought I had all the Blackwash LEEKs I needed...and then this one showed up. It's not fair, but what's a poor Leek Monkey to do?

This is the only "fancy" LEEK I own...not sure if the Black Lip Pearl is factory or after marker mod (Santa Fe Stone Works, perhaps?). This is an older one with the date (May 04) and patent numbers on it. I love Leeks and I love Black Pearl, so IMO this is a match made in heaven. :D
