kershaw d.w.o.

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Well...not really a new topic, but what do you folks think
of the kershaw's d.w.o. model?

They're about 3 1/4" closed, locking clip blade knives...
they have polymer handles, AUS 6A stainless blades,
really sharp, and they're kind of a really perfect
size and length for pocket carry, etc. (2 3/8 " blade).

I've got one of these in my pocket every day now, and
I think it's the perfect size, weight, etc, for an edc.

Thoughts, opinions? Thanks.

The DWO is a nice little lockback. Very nice fit and finish and a sturdy little blade.

nmikash...

yeah...same sentiments here...I really like this little
knife. would be nice if someone made the exact same
size/style knife, but with maybe bone or stag handles;
Nothing like that in the Kershaw line...maybe a Case or
S/M product would be cool...

So many of the lockbacks out there are just too big for
edc...this seems to be a nice size, length to build upon.

And the aus6 blade holds an edge, and is easily brought
back to its original sharpness.

Fairgrounds over in Berea. Maybe see you
there sometime.

The DWO is indeed a great size to carry. I used to EDC one years ago. I also gave my dad one. A few months ago he said the rubber case was worn out. It had torn and wasn't easy to use. I stopped by the Kershaw office and they gave me a brand new knife for him plus 4 or 5 spare covers & screws.

They always have been great to deal with.
