Now that Bryan has given us a Kershaw forum SHOW'EM

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Here's a few more from my accumulation. Also I noticed on the thread setailing the history of Kershaw there was mention made of a William Alexander who was supposed to be the in-house scrimshander for Kershaw.
I wonder if that may have actually been WALTER Alexander as the Snap-On knife I pictured above was done by him.A closeup of the signature follows.
