Nice KJ. Love the bone on that one.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 6:32 am Thank you Smitty.
Here is my last Robeson, a 3 3/4" Pocketeze "Stabber" Jack. It is quite a heavy duty knife with a saber ground spear point master blade. Used & sharpened with pen secondary worn down to more of an awl profile. But, still, it is my favorite Jack knife.

Hello Y'all
My honey came home with a 14 inch fixed blade Robeson Shuredge, very old, but I can't find the serial number I think it's 100 years old. Could anyone help?
I sure appreciate the kindness

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
I fished this little Robeson out of the bay. The bolsters and blades needed a little cleaning, and amazingly the MOP handles doesn't have any breaks or cracks, around the pins. A Robson 722110 2-5/8" Pearl Swell Center Pen Knife. The tang stamps on both blades is the upward Arched ROBESON with CO in the middle with Cutlery straight across the bottom. According to Goins' and other info I have, this tang stamp was used until 1922. I never really could catch the true iridescence with my camera, but these are some really nice handles. The blades, for a tiny knife, has a very audible snap on both.

That pattern is the first Robeson I bought, as an adult, when I decided to begin collecting them in 1988. Ten dollars at an antiques shop in Pensacola.
Don’t have it now, as I found a mint example later on.

I saw that one as well. Glad you snagged it! Well done.
Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
I've been a knife collector for many years, but I just recently bought my first Robeson. It's a well-worn stockman knife but looks to have several more years left in it. My knowledge about this brand is very limited, but from the research that I've done it was made from 1917-1939 (according to the tang stamps chart). I will ask you @RobesonsRme.com because you seem like the guru on this maufacturer; is that correct and could you be so kind to tell me what pattern/model number this knife is?

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
That particular knife and its Art Deco aluminum handled counterpart are a bit of a conundrum.
The tang stamp certainly suggests the dates you stated, but the knives are not that old.
They were introduced in the late 1950’s and were an attempt at remaining viable in the market for Robeson.
Why they chose to resurrect an old tang stamp is not known.
Not sure they actually had a pattern number, but they were illustrated in the catalogs of the time.
I have never owned an example of either of them, as I really liked Robeson knives that predated WWII.
I have, however, seen several testimonial statements praising the quality of the steel used in their manufacture.
They show up frequently on Ebay and patience will net you a mint, unused example for not a great deal of money.

Nice.
I’ve seen that Firth’s legend on other patterns, all with metal handles.

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
Thank you, Charlie.
The first thing I saw looking at the knife was "Firth" and I assumed it was an English knife.
Only to learn soon after it was a good ol' Robeson.

I can understand why you would want to pack that knife.
I have a nice old 62227 at 3 11/16" that makes a fine packer.

Dimitri, is that knife stamped with a Robeson stamp or simply, U.S.A.?
Very nice and yes, it would make s great everyday carry.

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
The U.S.A. stamp stands for United States Army. It is WWII issue.

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
This knife has to be older than the hills. Blades are perfect except for some stains, never been sharpened. Clip blade is stamped ROBESON SURE EDGE ROCHESTER, small blade has a arc ROBESON U.S.A. CUTLERY.
