Need some help Charlie Noyes
Or anyone who could help.
3in, celluloid handles, threaded bolster.
Tang stamp:
ROBESON (arched)
USA
CUTLERY
I believe that's 1922-1939
It has perfect square joints.
Is this considered a quill knife?
The color is more yellow than white.
Any information would be great!

Re: Need some help Charlie Noyes
Would that be a replica of George Washington's pocketknife? Reminds me of the Camillus one. If I recall, most were introduced to celebrate George Washington's 200th birthday.
Re: Need some help Charlie Noyes
I thought the same when I first saw it, but I don't remember Robeson making one.
Maybe they did??

After further researching.
It is a George Washington replica.
From 1936

Re: Need some help Charlie Noyes
I think Camillus 4 liners were made the same year, makes sense. I would have bet it was a higher quality Camillus.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Nice little knife, David.
Robeson did a good job on these as they usually do.
Square joints, as you pointed out, and don't you love that kick.
My blade looks like it has been ground at some point.

Mr Noyes has been somewhat remiss in his attendance of late, since he is no longer actively collecting.
Perhaps a PM would insure you get his attention when he passes through again ...

Re: Need some help Charlie Noyes
I have figured it out by searching and finding an old post by Mr. Noyes.
It is a Robeson made replica of a knife given to George Washington by his mother.
Made in 1936.

Good work on the sleuthing . . .

Still, for those seeking Charlie's knowledge, a PM would be suggested I think

HEY!!
I’m still here.
I don’t check this forum daily anymore, but I do check it.
And yes, Robeson’s version of a George Washington Commemorative Knife, circa 1936.
I have a photo of the information sheet that came with the knife. I no longer own the knife or the paper, but still have a pic. Not home right now, so will post later today.

I need to see if Lodge 22 still has the original on display.

I believe this knife was actually made in 1932 not 1936.
On GW's 200th birthday.
